At Snake River

This is another snow scene painted in the same room as the Greenland picture. The challenge in this piece was representing the distinction between the snow on the peak, which proved even more difficult to capture, as well as the larger patches of snow that brought their own set of painting challenges. The scene is located just outside the home of Jeremy’s girlfriend Becca’s family (from his Vanderbilt days) in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The Snake River, which is important to this arid region, was envisioned as larger, but in the painting, it appears quite small and required extra effort to bring out.
