about 1.jpg

Michael Doochin is an accomplished photographer, painter, author, and entrepreneur based outside of Nashville, Tennessee. An avid world traveler, his oil paintings range from abstract works to vibrant depictions of scenes inspired by his journeys through diverse cultures across the globe. Alongside his artistic pursuits, Michael and his wife, Linda, recently donated thousands of photographic slides documenting life and culture in Africa to the Smithsonian Institution. Currently, they are continuing their work by capturing photographs from other continents, further expanding their cultural archive.

Through his body of work, Michael intricately weaves together the beauty of the natural environment with profound metaphysical and spiritual themes. His paintings explore multiple levels, ranging from the physical to the metaphysical, delving into concepts that speak to the very essence of life. Each piece invites the viewer to reflect not only on the visible world but also on deeper, transcendent dimensions of existence.

In addition to his visual art, Michael is the author of several books, including The Tzaddik, a Kabbalistic novel, available on Amazon, and The Mystical Naturalist, which explores the connection between the natural world, Kabbalah, healing energy, and quantum physics, available on Smashwords. His deep engagement with Kabbalah is evident through his studies, having spent eight years learning the Tanya with Rabbi Yitzchok Tiechtel of Nashville.

Michael is also a certified Healing Touch practitioner and a passionate environmentalist. His professional life includes owning and managing a successful packaging and label business, where he is deeply involved in the creative aspects of the company. He holds a BA in economics from Williams College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Married with three children, Michael continues to balance his diverse interests and talents, contributing to both the artistic and business worlds.
